My birthday treat. Hilton Endless Saturday Afternoon High Tea @ D9 Cakery, Hilton Hotel, Orchard, Singapore.

I had an impromptu birthday treat at Hilton Endless Saturday Afternoon High Tea Buffet on my 34th birthday. Hubby kinda forgot my birthday and to be honest, as one gets older, birthday is not as excited as when we are a kid.

Anyway, hubby woke up with a shock that today is THE DAY! He felt bad but I was pretty casual about it, I don't mind if we just spend some time with the kids like any other day.

Anyway, he wanted to go to Orchard to get me my birthday present and cake, at the same time had something to eat. Initially wanted to get some steak but I found out about the D9 Endless Afternoon Tea at Hilton. Prices are reasonable at $41 ++ for adult and $21++ for kids between 5 to 12 years old. Kids below 5 years old are complimentary.

There are 2 seatings and only available on Saturday.

First seating: 12pm-2.30pm
Second seating: 3pm-5pm

We kinda woke up at 12pm and by the time we got out of the house and make the booking, it is already 1.30pm. Hence, we book the 3-5pm seating.

However, we reached around 2pm and are really hungry. The staff is very nice and let us start the buffet earlier, we also did finish and left earlier at 3.30pm :)

There is complimentary car park ticket that is available for diner so be sure to grab that as well when you make payment.

Now, lets look at the selection of savoury items....

Savoury item: pulled pork burger, tortilla roll, smoked salmon on rye bread
I tried the smoked salmon on rye bread- not bad...
Selection of salads
Quiches, portuguese tarts, mini burger
Kids love the vegetable quiches and portuguese tarts.

More savoury- burger
Swiss Raclette Cheese -heated and scrap on potatoes/bread
I love the Swiss Raclette Cheese and the fact that it is melted, scrap onto my selection of bread and torched using torch burner to make it even more tempting.

Dim Sum and Bao
Satay
Hubby and my boy gives the chicken satay many many thumbs up!

Mini burger with pork floss
Laksa counter
Laksa is very good as well and comes in a decent small portion.

Laksa
Coffee (black, white, cappuccino, latte, mocha), hot chocolate, milk, a selection of TWG tea, even some iced tea are all free flow and included in the buffet.

My cappuccino and TWG Earl Grey Tea
Enjoying his hot chocolate and mini burger
As for the sweets selection:
Macaroon
I actually enjoyed the macaroon a lot. I don't usually like macaroon as I find them overly sweet but the one served at the D9 Cakery Buffet is just nice in its sweetness and very yummy indeed.

Bottled mini dessert
More selection of bottled desserts
Creme Brûlée

Selection of butter cakes
There is a selection of cakes which I missed out in the photos- cheesecakes, matcha cake, rainbow cake, chestnut cake, and some chocolate which is also quite nice and good looking.

Selection of praline
Pralines are so so, did not 'wow-ed' me..

White chocolate fountain
Kids love the chocolate fountain and the sweets which is available for dipping- marshmallow, gummy bear, strawberry, M&M, lollipops and round chocolate (orange and strawberry flavour)

Teppanyaki Ice Cream
Highlight will be this Teppanyaki Ice Cream where creamy chocolate is poured over the dry iced and stir fried like a teppanyaki. Nice to watch and nice to eat.

Her selection of dessert and a cuppa hot milk
Some selection of cakes that I forget to take photos...
Overall, I would say this is highly recommended if you are looking for a place for afternoon tea on a Saturday. The ambience is very nice and located at the lobby area of Hilton hotel so you will definitely not missed this place. Selection is good with a fair selection of both sweets and savoury items so you still get your stomach filled and not overloaded with all the sweets stuff. All non-alcoholic drinks are included in the price and they do serve cold/warm water as well so no need to worry about additional charges for drinks. Prices are also very reasonable for Hilton standard.

Family Trip 2017 @ Cameron Highland, Malaysia (Day 5)

Today marks the last day of our trip.

Early morning, grandma, grandpa, my sister and the kids went and visit the hotel's farm. Besides strawberries, there are also lemon and it is HUGE LEMON!

HUGE LEMON!
After having some breakfast in the room, bread etc, hubby and me went to check out while the rest went to Smurf Inn nearby to have a look.

Smurf Inn is located in this area Royal Chateau which also houses some double storey private houses.  There is a horse carousel inside and kids had fun playing.

Next up, we went to Lavender Garden. It has lots of lavender and a great place to get your photos done cause it is pretty and lots of nice photo spots. There is also a strawberries farm inside and you can pluck strawberries here as well at a much cheaper rate than the one we went (RM 10 for 200g of strawberries).

Entrance fees to Lavender Garden costs RM 8 for adult and RM 5 (Kids 5-12 years old). The price had gone up quite a bit since we last visited.

Supposed to be an all girl's shot... Jayden came and join too !!!
There is a cafe at the garden so while the guys rested, the rest of us went for some photo taking....

Cafe selling strawberry coffee, strawberry milkshake, strawberry cake and lavender cake. Strawberry milkshake is nice, recommended. The coffee on the other hand, has a very slight strawberry taste only... quite normal... lavender cake also just so so....

With grandma...

We left Lavender Garden around 12pm and everyone is full from the cakes and drinks from the cafe, hence we decided to go to Gunung Rapat near Ipoh to buy some famous biscuits (Heong Peah) and then lunch.

Famous Heong Peah

For lunch, we had noodles at Kwong Hong Restaurant. It has nice Yong Tao Fu Noodle and you get to choose your own ingredients. For noodle, it can be dry, soup or in curry.

It was crowded when we reached and waited a while to get seats. Noodles are good.
